When creating our activities calendar, we take into consideration the current cognitive and functional ability of those we care for to create success-oriented programming tailored for our residents that are in various stages of dementia. Residents enjoy activities that offer acknowledgement, positive human contact, socialization and emotional support. Programming depends greatly on the interest, hobbies and needs of our residents. Our programming offers activities to structure the days of our residents with dementia to appeal to individuals of all stages of dementia; from a mild cognitive decline, moderate, moderately severe and severe cognitive decline. It is designed to entertain and involve individuals in a stimulating open community social setting. Our indoor walking pathways along with our outdoor enclosed walking paths adorn with beautiful planting and gazebo allow our residents to be able to walk freely and safely either indoors or outdoors. At Meadow Mills our residents experience encouragement through social, therapeutic and physical activities. Alzheimer’s and Dementia specific activities for memory care are planned monthly. We become very well acquainted with our residents and are able to know the likes and dislikes of our residents which results in increased participation. We have a full calendar of activities such as coffee, chronical & trivia, exercise, skee-ball, left, right center, bingo, po-keno, creative corner, word games, ring toss, sing-alongs, discussion groups, memory magic, reminisce, wellness talks, socials, golf and even happy hour and musical entertainers.
