Chester is a city in Hancock County, West Virginia, United States, along the Ohio River. It is part of the Weirton-Steubenville, WV-OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 2,585 at the 2010 census. Chester was established in 1896, but not incorporated until 1907. The city is named after J.
