Activities ProvidedOur monthly activities are all listed on our web site. . We want all to feel they are a part of a large and caring family. With this in mind, we do family vacations together, go to bingo, go on picnics, to the movies, dine out, do theme dinners at home such as a luau, and attend concerts and holiday functions. We have a yearly picnic with all residents and their families invited. Lots of fun and food! Movies, games, crafts, Wii are available. At the Barton Homestead, sit or stroll by a beautiful garden with a Koi pond. We also have our own original activities such as ? A Date?. A ?Date? involves a very special activity with a time set aside for individual attention and enjoyment. For our ladies, it means one of the staff arrives with a flower for his ?date? and they go for a lovely lunch, a movie or perhaps a concert or stop at a local nursery to purchase plants for our gardens! For our gentlemen, the ?Date? involves a ride to the park, a hearty lunch, lots of talk about sports or fishing, and possibly a Mets game! All the dates are tailored to the individual?s interests and abilities. Another special evening is our ?party? in our community room. The ladies get their nails and hair done, and get all ready to rock! The gents get all slicked up! Then we play music from the 40?s and 50?s and dance and sing! Come and party with us!
